Job Description

Redi Energy provides Maintenance and Construction Services to the Western Canadian Industrial and Commercial Markets. We are currently building a skilled and dedicated team to deliver world class scaffold and insulation services to Canada's top Energy companies. If you are an Apprentice Insulator looking for a challenging, long term maintenance assignment we want you to join our team on the Fort Hills site, located north of Fort McMurray!
Apprentice Insulators have responsibility for the following:
  • Assist with the supply, removal, and repair of thermal and acoustical insulation on all types of industrial equipment
  • Assist JM with determining the amount and type of insulation to be installed, as well as confirm the method of securing the insulation depending on the specifications of the structure
  • Measure and cut insulating material and coverings to the required shape and dimension
  • Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site
  • Prepare surfaces for insulation application by brushing or spreading on adhesives, cement, or asphalt, or by attaching metal pins to surfaces
  • Install vapor barriers & finish insulated surfaces by applying metal cladding, canvas, PVC, or cement 

Job Requirements

  • Strong commitment to Safety and to ensuring all duties are followed through with safe work practices
  • Must have the ability to work at heights
  • Must be comfortable working within confined spaces, in potentially hot and cold environment
  • Must have physical strength and endurance
  • Maintain positive relations with client & coworkers through effective communication and conflict management skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be knowledgeable in types of insulation used in industrial area
  • Requires leadership abilities to inspire and coach apprentices to accomplish strategic goals and related tasks
  • OSSA Regional Orientation and CSTS, or, OSSA Basic Safety Orientation – if you do not have OSSA Regional Orientation and CSTS, you will need to take the OSSA BSO course which is done in class and takes roughly 4 hours. You need this to be mobilized and get your Suncor badge activated
  • Suncor Ft. Hills Orientation
  • Suncor Wildlife Awareness
  • AWP Certification
  • OSSA Fall Protection (with an expiry date of 3 years)
  • OSSA Confined Space (with an expiry date of 3 years)
  • H2S Alive
  • Successful completion of pre-access alcohol and drug screen
  • Individuals must be able to work a 7 on, 7 off rotation. Flights will be provided to and from Edmonton and Calgary
  • Wages and competitive benefit structure offered as per CLAC Agreement
